Skull Cleaning Service

At Head Hunters Skull Works, we offer two different forms of professional, “museum quality”, skull cleaning methods – Beetle Cleaning and Boiling.

BOILING:

The first, and by far most popular method, is boiling. Boiling is the quickest and most hygienic way to preserve your trophy; and is the preferred method for all ANTLERED game. Boiling also allows for a much quicker turnaround time.

***We do offer an expedited 24 hour and 48 hour turnaround time for all of our traveling hunters. Please be aware of each states interstate laws for traveling big game heads, the last thing you want is to have your trophy seized by law enforcement***

BEETLE CLEANING:

The second option is beetle cleaning, we use hundreds of thousands of flesh-eating beetles to remove every bit of organic matter from the skull with surgical precision. Beetle cleaning is the preferred method for any and all small game, birds, small predators (bobcats, beaver, fox, ect.), large predators ( lions, bears, wolves, ect.), and ALL HORNED GAME – you finally drew your sheep or your goat tag, let’s not cut any corners and beetle clean your skull (a perfect skull is also a necessary step for making replicas of your sheep/goat). The amount of detail left in the skull from beetle cleaning is vastly superior to the boiling method.

Every skull gets coated in our very own PATENT PENDING PRESERVATIVE, ensuring that your trophy stays looking as perfect as possible!

*Please note: An additional fee of $100 applies for any required skinning services.*
